One cable for almost every streaming device
Smart Power Cable is a universal USB power cable. It works with almost every USB-powered streaming stick, TV box and IPTV box: Fire TV, Roku, Google TV Streamer, Chromecast, Xiaomi, Android TV sticks, Formuler Z Mini and more. A built-in energy buffer covers devices that need up to 1.5 A, while a TV’s USB port often gives about 0.5 A. That is why one and the same cable fits so many devices.
Why your stick needs more than the TV’s USB port
Plug a streaming stick into the TV’s USB port and it often restarts, freezes or will not start at all. The reason is simple. Many streaming devices need up to 1.5 A, while a USB port on a TV often gives around 0.5 A. That gap is why most sticks ship with their own plug, which means one more power socket and one more cable behind the TV.
How Smart Power Cable solves it
Smart Power Cable sits between the USB port and your streaming stick. Inside is an energy buffer. While the stick is ticking along on low power, the buffer stores energy from the USB port. When the stick needs more, for example when it starts up or begins to stream, the buffer releases that stored energy. Your stick gets the power it asks for, and you get rid of the wall plug.
The design is patented, and it is the same cable whichever of the tested sticks you use.
Setting it up
- Charge the cable once before first use. About 60 minutes is enough. It arrives charged, but a full first charge is recommended.
- Plug it into a USB port on your TV, or into another USB source.
- Connect your streaming stick to the cable, and the stick to the TV’s HDMI port as usual.
After that, the cable keeps itself charged from the USB port. You can leave it plugged in all the time. Nothing needs to be set up on the stick.
Made for motorhomes, caravans, boats and 12 V living
In a motorhome, a caravan or on a boat, every socket counts, and many people do not want to run an inverter just to watch TV. If your TV runs on 12 V and has a USB port, Smart Power Cable lets the streaming stick run from that port, with no 230 V needed. If the TV’s port is too weak, use a compatible USB charger in a 12 V socket and plug the cable into that instead. The same goes for camping and off-grid cabins.
Just as good at home
At home it cleans up the space behind a wall-mounted TV. No extra plug, no power supply hanging behind the screen, and one less cable to hide.
Works with
Almost every streaming device that is powered over USB. For example:
Streaming sticks
- Fire TV Stick
- Roku Streaming Stick
- NOW Smart Stick
- Xiaomi TV Stick 4K
- Tele2 Tv Hub Mini
- ZTE 4K TV Stick
- Thomson Streaming Stick 145
- Strong Leap Air 4K UHD
- Strong Leap Una 2K FHD
- Other Android TV sticks
TV boxes and dongles
- Google TV Streamer
- Chromecast with Google TV
- Chromecast
- Roku Express
IPTV boxes
- Formuler Z Mini
- Other USB-powered IPTV boxes and sticks
Roku Streaming Stick 4K: Roku recommends its own USB cable, which carries the Wi-Fi receiver. If the Wi-Fi signal is weak behind your TV, ask us before you order.
One simple check: your device must be powered over USB. Look at its original plug. It should say 5 V and up to 1.5 A. Devices with a round barrel power plug or a 12 V power supply, such as many larger IPTV boxes and mini PCs, are not covered.
We have tested it ourselves with Google TV Streamer, Xiaomi TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick, Thomson Streaming Stick 145, ZTE 4K and Chromecast.
Using an Apple TV? It needs a different cable. See our Apple TV power cable for USB and 12 V.

Frequently asked questions
Which streaming sticks does it work with?
Almost every USB-powered streaming stick, TV box and IPTV box, for example Fire TV Stick, Roku Streaming Stick, Google TV Streamer, Chromecast, Xiaomi TV Stick 4K and Formuler Z Mini. The device must be powered over USB and need no more than 5 V and 1.5 A. Check the label on its original plug.
Does it work at home, or only in a motorhome?
Both. At home it removes the wall plug behind the TV. In a motorhome, caravan or boat it lets you stream from 12 V without an inverter.
Will it affect picture quality?
No. The cable only handles power. Picture quality depends on your internet connection and WiFi.
My stick still restarts. What can I do?
The USB port is probably too weak. Try another USB port on the TV, a stronger port, or a separate USB source such as a USB charger.
Can I leave it plugged in?
Yes. Once it has had its first charge it stays charged from the USB port.
Why does my stick restart when I turn the TV on?
On most TVs the USB power switches off together with the TV. When the TV comes back on, the stick starts up again.
Can I power several devices from one USB source?
Yes, as long as the source can deliver enough total power for all of them.
How do I use it in a motorhome with a 12 V socket?
Plug a compatible USB charger into the 12 V socket and connect Smart Power Cable to it. If your 12 V TV has a strong enough USB port, you can use that directly.
