Teltonika RUT976 power supply and cables

Need power for a Teltonika RUT976? It is a four-port 5G RedCap router that takes 9 to 30 V DC, and all three of our cables fit its 4-pin socket.

  • 4-pin socket
  • 9 to 30 V DC
  • Peak 9.1 W at 12 V

We sell the cable, not the router. We do not sell the Teltonika RUT976 itself. What you can order here is the cable or supply that powers it, made by us.

About the Teltonika RUT976

The RUT976 is the RUT956 idea moved to 5G RedCap. It keeps the four Ethernet ports, dual SIM, GNSS, serial ports, USB and I/O, so you can take an existing RUT9 design onto 5G without changing the rest of the cabinet.

It suits operators planning for the end of older networks who still want serial and I/O at the edge.

How much power the RUT976 draws

The numbers are small: 1.6 W at idle and 9.1 W at full load, measured by Teltonika at 12 V. That peak works out at about 755 mA, or 50% of our supply's rating.

Peak at 12 V: 9.1 W of the 18 W our 230 V supply delivers

Which cable should I pick?

  • Wall socket. The simple choice indoors: plug in and the RUT976 starts.
  • Vehicle. Quick vehicle install. Fine on 12 V and 24 V systems.
  • Cabinet, battery or solar. Bare ends for 12, 24 or 30 V DC, with the I/O wires included. Add a 2 A slow-blow fuse near the source.

Install tips

  • Moving a RUT956 site to a RUT976? The DIN rail position, power wiring and I/O wiring can stay as they are.
  • On 24 V vehicles, add surge protection. Truck and bus systems can spike well above 30 V at engine start, and the Teltonika RUT976 is only rated to 30 V.
  • Measure the voltage at the router end once installed, especially with long cable runs on 12 V systems.

Teltonika RUT976 power FAQ

?What is the input voltage range of the Teltonika RUT976?

Teltonika specifies 9 to 30 V DC for the Teltonika RUT976. Both 12 V and 24 V supplies sit comfortably inside that window.

?I lost the adapter for my Teltonika RUT976. What do I need?

Any DC supply within 9 to 30 V DC on a Teltonika-style 4-pin plug will work. Our 230 V supply gives 12 V at 1.5 A, which suits the Teltonika RUT976.

?Does the Teltonika RUT976 use the same power socket as the RUT956?

Yes. Both have the 4-pin socket and take 9 to 30 V. Teltonika measured the RUT976 at about 9.1 W at 12 V under full load, so all three of our cables are fine.

?Does the screw terminal cable give access to the Teltonika RUT976's I/O?

Yes. Only the screw terminal cable connects them. Green goes to the input and white to the output. The car cable and the 230 V supply only use the power pins.

?How much headroom does the Teltonika RUT976 leave on an 18 W supply?

Plenty. At 9.1 W peak, the Teltonika RUT976 uses 50% of 18 W.

?Is the Teltonika RUT976 included with the cable?

We do not sell the Teltonika RUT976. Our shop has three power options for it, and that is all we sell for Teltonika devices.
