Teltonika RUT240 power supply and cables
Need power for a Teltonika RUT240? It is a compact 4G router that takes 9 to 30 V DC, and all three of our cables fit its 4-pin socket.

Screw terminal cable
Bare ends for 12, 24 or 30 V DC, with the I/O wires included.
Teltonika stopped taking orders for the Teltonika RUT240 on 31 July 2023 and supports it until 31 July 2028. The official replacement is the Teltonika RUT200, and the Teltonika RUT241 is the closest like-for-like model. These use the same 4-pin socket, so our cables fit them too.
About the Teltonika RUT240
The RUT240 is the small 4G router that made Teltonika a household name in industrial IoT. It has one SIM, two Ethernet ports and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi in an aluminium case about the size of a palm, and it runs RutOS, so you get VPN, failover, SMS control and remote management through RMS.
Teltonika's own case studies show it in solar power plants and on waste collection trucks, and plenty of them are still in service.

How much power the RUT240 draws
With everything busy, Teltonika's figure for the Teltonika RUT240 is 4.2 W at 12 V, and about 0.85 W at rest. Even that peak leaves 13.9 W spare on the 18 W supply.
Which cable should I pick?
- Wall socket. The simple choice indoors: plug in and the RUT240 starts.
- Vehicle. Quick vehicle install. Fine on 12 V and 24 V systems.
- Cabinet, battery or solar. Bare ends for 12, 24 or 30 V DC, with the I/O wires included. Add a 2 A slow-blow fuse near the source.
Install tips
- Passive PoE is not normal PoE. The RUT240 can take 9 to 30 V over spare pairs on the LAN port, but a standard 802.3af PoE switch will damage it. If you power it over Ethernet, use a passive injector in that voltage range.
- Do not let the cable hang from the plug. A cable tie a few centimetres from the socket stops vibration from working it loose.
- Measure the voltage at the router end once installed, especially with long cable runs on 12 V systems.
Teltonika RUT240 power FAQ
?What is the input voltage range of the Teltonika RUT240?
Teltonika specifies 9 to 30 V DC for the Teltonika RUT240. Both 12 V and 24 V supplies sit comfortably inside that window.
?I lost the adapter for my Teltonika RUT240. What do I need?
Any DC supply within 9 to 30 V DC on a Teltonika-style 4-pin plug will work. Our 230 V supply gives 12 V at 1.5 A, which suits the Teltonika RUT240.
?Do these cables also fit the Teltonika RUT241?
Yes. The RUT241 has the same 4-pin socket and the same 9 to 30 V range, so all three of our cables fit it too.
?Does the screw terminal cable give access to the Teltonika RUT240's I/O?
Yes. Only the screw terminal cable connects them. Green goes to the input and white to the output. The car cable and the 230 V supply only use the power pins.
?How much headroom does the Teltonika RUT240 leave on an 18 W supply?
Plenty. At 4.2 W peak, the Teltonika RUT240 uses 23% of 18 W.
?Is the Teltonika RUT240 included with the cable?
We do not sell the Teltonika RUT240. Our shop has three power options for it, and that is all we sell for Teltonika devices.
