Low-loss SMA antenna cable, 15 m: questions and answers

Moving a router antenna to a better spot? These are the questions people ask most about our low-loss SMA antenna cable in 15 m, each with a short answer. If yours is missing, write to us.

Questions customers ask

Will it fit my router and antenna?

It fits standard SMA connectors, with SMA male at one end and SMA female at the other. Wi-Fi ports that use RP-SMA do not fit. Unsure about yours? Write to us before you order.

How many cables does a MIMO antenna need?

One per antenna port on the router. A router with two mobile antenna ports needs two cables to get the full MIMO benefit, and a router with four ports needs four.

Is 15 m the right length for me?

It suits long runs, such as an antenna high on a mast or pole, or a route that has to cross the whole boat or building to reach the router. Measure the real route, bends and lead-throughs included, and pick the shortest cable that reaches.

Can I use it to lengthen an antenna cable that is too short?

Yes. Screw the antenna's SMA male plug into the female end, then connect the male end to the router. Keep joints to a minimum, since each one adds a little loss.

Can I run it outdoors?

Yes. The joints between cable and connectors are sealed with heat shrink. Wrap the outdoor connection in self-amalgamating tape and let the cable hang in a drip loop before it enters the hull or wall.

How quickly will it arrive, and can I send it back?

Orders placed before 13:00 on a working day leave the same day, and always within 3 working days. Shipping is €15 within the EU and €29 to the rest of Europe, tracked with DHL. You can return it within 14 days of delivery and you cover the return postage. Details are in our terms and conditions.
